Wesley on Erdnase A Look Back

I have since obtained a copy of this DVD set and my comments based on viewing the dvds at a friends house are 100% accurate with respect to the entire DVD set. A personal favorite would be the 10 person audience and if you've managed not to slit your wrists yet, hang in there for the card stab. I think the only way this might have been worse is if Wes stabbed his own hand. Now since viewing them I have received some insider information regarding the reason Wesley did the set and it seems to be largely personal problems and financial need. This is ironic considering the reason Erdnase claims to have written the book.

I'm sorry for your situation Wes and I do hope that everything looks up. To those who paid real hard cash for the Erdnase DVDs I am sorry to you too. Unfortunately they weren't as good as anyone would have liked them to be. But let me assure you that the moves in the book are all possible, event the open shift.

So he's going for the sympathy vote now?

I doubt he's going for it but I certainly don't buy it. Regardless of how bad he needed the money there are other ways to go about it. Like a job!
When do I get an invite to view your blog Mule?

Cheers

The blog is set to "invite only" for archiving purposes. I'm the only soul who has access at the moment.

I'm sure you're devastated...

If the DVDs were made out of desperation, he should at least have the decency to man up now (over a year later) and admit that they are a pile of crap and not at all a fair representation of the book.

Until this happens, I have to assume that he is still, in his own words, "proud of the contents" and actually believes them to be worthy.

I honestly believe he thinks he did a good job. Word from the inside has told me that everyone involved but Wesley was let down by the whole production. The thing I have found that Wesley tends to be rather delusional. He honestly believes he is an expert. Even when someone who is clearly better than him shows him a technique, from Erdnase for example, he will acknowledge the person's skill and technique and feel his is just as good if not better.

Wes has clearly disregarded the section in Erdnase on using a looking glass and a full understanding of the move.

I look forward to hopefully haveing access to your blog at some point. Until then I will try to be more active myself as I enjoy these conversations.

I read that he was supposed to have given lectures on this stuff too.

Dear help the atendees.

Almost worse than his own delusions are the ridiculous raving reviews you read about it.

Are people THAT ignorant?

Take a look at the post just below this and the comment someone made. The implication that one must purchase or own an item to review it is ridiculous. If I rented movies and reviewed them there wouldn't be an issue, if a friend owned the movies and I watched them, again no issue. But he clearly missed the point that I didn't own them and as such didn't review them.
It's unfortunate you have removed your site as that review was surely the only realistic extensive review online.

If Wes is lecturing on his stuff shame on him, and shame on the organizers for paying him for this! They must either be blind or impressed by his inability to perform the material. Fucking disgusting.

Another thought on the rave reviews. Having met him he was very nice albeit incompetent with a deck of cards. Unfortunately the magic community is full of politics but on top of that I think these raves are coming from people whom are younger and received their first encouragement and "underground work" from Wes. He does have his own little following who have grown to become decent from what I've been told. Those rave reviews are, in my opinion, a representation of his ability to be nice to people not his ability with the pasteboards.

I need to meet these Disciples...
